The temple's story

From a committee of volunteers to a consecrated temple

  1. 01

    20 July 2009

    The first executive committee

Devotees in Coventry formed the temple's first executive committee — the beginning of everything that followed.

  2. 02

    27 February 2010

    The premises are purchased

The building on George Eliot Road that the temple still occupies today was bought by the community.

  3. 03

    13 March 2010

    Foundation day

The auspicious day on which Shri Sidhi Vinayagar Devasthanam was founded and came into existence.

  4. 04

    2 July 2012

    Maha Kumbabishekam

The consecration ceremony — மகாகும்பாபிஷேகம், குடமுழுக்கு விழா — was performed, bringing the shrines to life.

  5. 05

    1 May 2013

    The first Mahotsavam

The temple's first Mahotsavam ran for ten days. It was, in the committee's own words, a grand celebration.

  6. 06

    2024

    Maha Kumbabishekam, again

Twelve years on, the temple undertook its second consecration — the occasion for the appeal below.

Good temple in Coventry. Great parking available as well. If you are visiting for the first time with your car, the entrance can be a bit confusing, bear with it. Jai Ganesha!
